Sakura Season
The cherry blossoms won’t last long but I wanted to get out and shoot some of them. I think they are the most interesting at night, there is so much depth and color, light and shadow. The lamps in the park gave off a great pink lens flare that worked really well with the cherry [...]
Osaka Sumo
We had a great day watching Sumo, here are a few pics from our day out. Thanks to Rulo’s advice we sat up front in the beginning during the lower ranked fights. It was amazing to see them up close. As the day progressed the better fighter’s came out, each rank has different clothing, hairstyles, [...]
Tetsujin 28
Ayumi and I had a fun night walking around Kobe. It was freezing, but there were so many interesting things to check out.
Peace Show
These are some preliminary sketches, studies and motion doodles for our Peace exhibit in October. This is a joint project between Yasu Suzuka, Judy Umana, Rulo.cl and myself. Hiroshima 2008 Animation Festival
The Hiroshima Animation festival was great, as well as being a bit of a blur. It was interesting seeing so many animation, over 200, during the four days that I was there. There was a variety of work from all over the world, although there seemed to be a larger number of work from Eastern [...]
Kyoto Rain
Some photos from today’s downpour. I was shooting in raw format today with my point-and-shoot Canon S70 camera. I needed a fast shutter speed to capture the rain clearly, as a result the photos were quite under exposed. When I brought up the levels, it revealed some nice grain texture and unexpected colours. Check out [...]
